- Nvidia is preparing to launch the new RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4050 graphics cards in May and June, respectively.
- Leaks reveal details about the GPU, CUDA cores, VRAM, and memory bus of upcoming graphics cards.
- Gamers express their dissatisfaction with the amount of 8 GB VRAM on the RTX 4060 Ti and Nvidia’s choice to use the AD106 GPU instead of the AD104.
Nvidia, the renowned computer hardware company, has introduced its new RTX graphics card models in recent months. In September of last year, they released the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti earlier this year. The RTX 4070 is expected to be officially announced on April 13, and possible release dates for the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4050, as well as their specifications, were recently leaked.
According to leak expert Zed Wang, the RTX 4060 Ti is expected to launch at the end of May, while the RTX 4050 could be released in June. Although it had been speculated that the standard RTX 4060 would hit stores in May, Wang claims that Nvidia has yet to decide on an exact release date.
Additionally, Wang has posted an image of the RTX 4060 Ti case design template, which has allegedly been provided by Nvidia to its motherboard partners so they can create the packaging material for their custom versions of the graphics card.
RTX 4060 Ti Specifications
While the image doesn’t confirm the rumored specs, it does reveal some of the card’s software features and connectivity options.
According to the leaks, the RTX 4060 Ti would feature the AD106-350-A1 GPU, 4,352 CUDA cores, 8GB of 18Gbps GDDR6 VRAM, and a TGP rating of 160W. Additionally, it is speculated that the card could have a power bus. 128-bit memory, which would give it a bandwidth of 288 GB/s.
However, some gamers have raised concerns about the 8 GB VRAM, which might be insufficient for many modern games. Nvidia’s decision to use the AD106 GPU instead of the AD104, which is considered a more powerful card, has also been questioned.
On the other hand, it has been rumored that the standard RTX 4060 will be released in June, which has led to speculation if Nvidia will simultaneously introduce the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti.
In any case, it looks like Nvidia’s 40-series will continue to expand in the coming weeks and months.
