If you don’t want to pay for extra storage space on Google you can make a modification on the settings. The trick is to set another Google account and start saving your backup copy directly on another e-mail account. It’s as easy as it sounds.
Save your WhatsApp backup on Google for free
The only thing you need is a mobile device with another Google account synched. You need the new account to download apps like Google Play Store and Google Photos. You will still have your main account to save Gmail and other important stuff. But you can use your secondary account to download up to 15 GB of free storage space.
How to create a second Google account for the security copy
In order to create a second Google account you need to open Settings – Password and accounts and select the Add account button. Then you have to select Google and there’s a blue call order that indicates Create an account.
From this point onwards, it’s the same as creating a new Gmail account. Make sure of the data verification and choose the address and password for the new mail. The main account will still be present but you can select the secondary account for the backup actions.
To select the second account for the chat backup you need to open WhatsApp Settings – Chats – Security backup. Select Google account as the saving tool and your WhatsApp backup will be saved on the Google account. You can use 15 free GB to store photos, videos and messages you share on your different chats.
