Reportedly, NASA has once again delayed the manned launch of the Boeing Starliner capsule, which was initially scheduled for this weekend, without announcing a new date.
Starliner is the alternative to SpaceX’s Dragon to transport astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), but its development is having multiple problems and delays. After failed test flight attempts in 2019, it finally managed to reach the ISS in 2022.
The most recent crewed flight was canceled due to a valve problem on the Atlas V rocket, followed by a helium leak on Starliner.
Although a launch was planned for May 25, it has now been postponed again. NASA has stressed its commitment to the safety of astronauts, prioritizing problem solving before risking their lives.
This latest delay is a new complication for Boeing, already under scrutiny for safety problems with its planes.

On May 6, the first launch attempt of the Starliner was scheduled, but it was canceled two hours before takeoff due to a problem with the Atlas V rocket. The dates of May 17 and 21 were also discarded to give more time to engineers to solve a problem identified on the ship. Starliner launch details
NASA and Boeing Space are making final preparations for the launch of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft. A ULA Atlas V rocket will carry the Starliner and NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams into space. The takeoff will be from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
In orbit, Wilmore and Williams will remain at the International Space Station (ISS) for approximately a week, during which they will conduct tests on the Starliner and its subsystems so that NASA can certify it for rotating missions to the ISS as part of the Commercial Crew Program. .

The Starliner launch is scheduled for 3:09 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 25.
Live coverage will begin at 11 a.m. ET on several channels, including NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app, YouTube and the agency’s website.
Although NASA+ will end its coverage shortly after Starliner reaches orbit, NASA Television will continue to provide updates.
They will cover the docking of the Starliner to the ISS, scheduled for 4:12 p.m. ET, and the hatch opening, at approximately 6:05 p.m. ET, followed by welcoming remarks from the Expedition 71 crew on station.
