The new line of Intel processors

New Intel Core Ultra 200V processors are already here

The new Intel Core Ultra 200V line of microprocessors is already here to power up new laptops. The new set of chips offers high energetic efficiency, a great leap in graphic power, more security and IA support. In this article we explore the main features of the Lunar Lake family of chips.

Nowadays it’s very common to buy laptop computers for daily life activities. They are comfortable devices and very versatile. The laptop is a very powerful system that you can easily transport and they do not occupy too much space. With those needs into account, the new Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake chips incorporate several enhancements to update Intel portable computers.

The new Intel processors family

How are the new Intel Core Ultra 200V processors

Thanks to this new set of processors Microsoft Copilot+ in Windows 11 will run efficiently on laptops. It’s a new family of microprocessors to offer complete support for AI features. They offer more autonomy and power thanks to a enhanced energetic efficiency.

The first detail about the new processors is that the 9 models have 4 power cores and 4 efficiency cores. Besides, the processors won’t include the HyperThreading technology. All of them have different work frequencies and cache memory. Also, the graphics are integrated into the processor.

It’s important to note that HyperThreading doesn’t disappear completely. When there are heavy workloads for the P-Cores, the E-Cores will start providing backup tasks. It’s a way to improve the device performance in comparison with the processing threads technology.

Another new feature of the Intel Core Ultra 200V processors is the welded RAM memory that it’s directly attached to the DIE. All the processors use LP DDR5 at 8.533 MT/s but the capacity ranges from 16GB to 32GB depending on the model.

Intel also highlights the increase of gaming performance thanks to the iGPU Xe 2. The performance is a 30% better in comparison with the previous generation of processors. These new integrated GPUs use ARC architecture and have up to eight Xe 2 cores. They also include 8 ray tracing units and 4K monitors support. Finally, they have support for AI Intel Xe Matrix Extensions engines (Intel XMX) and up to 67 TOPS of power for creative apps.

More power in the newest Intel processors

The new family of Intel processors Core Ultra 200V have a global power of up to 120 TOPS when combining CPU, iGPU and NPU. The main goal is to improve the user experience completing tasks in less time. Intel highlights fourth generation NPUs because they can offer 4 times more power than the previous generation.

There are also other new interesting features. Besides a better performance for apps and games, they also implement security elements based on AI. For example, they can use  a local AI to detect possible fake videos on the Internet to avoid Deep Fake content. The processors can also identify malicious users and apps.

The WiFi 7 native support and the possibility of connecting several monitors to the computer as well as transfer files and charge the device through Thunderbolt Share. According to Intel presentation, there are more than 20 partners in the laptop developing industry like ASUS, Lenovo and LG that will use the new Intel Core Ultra 200V processors. There will be more than 80 different models to start with.
