The new Samsung Galaxy family of Smartphones is already here. The Galaxy S25 is oficial and the first Unpacked of 2025 introduced the new Android high-end offer from the Korean manufacturer. There are three Samsung Galaxy S25 models and here you will find a comparison with other devices.
The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra have several details from a continuity point of view, but they also have Artificial Intelligence as main protagonist. We already know which hardware and software will be included in the new Samsung models and we can compare with other high-end devices from other brands.
Galaxy S25 facing other high-end devices
Samsung is one of the first brands to officially present their new devices each year. 2025 is not the exception. The Galaxy S25 is one of the first mobile phones to mount the Snapdragon 8 Elite from Qualcomm. This means that in terms of processing power there are few devices that compete with S25 family. Xiaomi, for example, has a new high-end phone but only available on the Asian market.
If you are looking for a high-end phone for the beginning of 2025 you should look for one of the following:
- Oppo Find X8 Pro
- Realme GT7 Pro
- Google Pixel 9 Pro
- Honor Magic7 Pro
- Xiaomi 15 Pro
- OnePlus 13
The rest of the brands, like Huawei, are not powerful enough to even compare with the newest Galaxy S25 phones.
The new standard for screen and processing power from Snapdragon
Back in the day, you had to choose between certain brands to select an AMOLED or OLED screen. But nowadays the Premium devices always include LTPO screens with a refresh rate that ranges from 1 Hz to save battery up to 120. In terms of size there are differences. The smallest high-end device is the Galaxy S25 but you can also choose the Xiaomi 15 with a 6,36 inches panel.
Processing power has a winner in this new generation: Qualcomm. The processors from this manufacturer like the Snapdragon 8 Elite are extremely powerful. You can use them to process graphics through the GPU Adreno and the experience is far superior. Oppo offers the Dimensity 9400 from MediaTek and the results are pretty good as well.
Storage space and memory in the new Galaxy S25 family
In terms of storage space Samsung is leader of the segment. The S25 family starts with 12 GB of RAM and it’s a great number. Oppo offers more storage space but it’s also an expensive developer. You can select between 256 GB and 512 of storage space for your photos and videos.
Camera and megapixels
In the Android world, the best photo camera is the one from Samsung Galaxy S25. The new features include AI protocols and a great angular with 50 megapixels quality.
Oppo rules in the zoom feature characteristics. Thanks to the tele objective from the Find X8 Pro you can get the best photos on the distance. The S25 Ultra from Samsung includes 5 zooms and the lesser complex devices from the S25 family mount an 3x zoom. The sensor is not that powerful as it only includes 10 megapixels.
In terms of frontal camera, the best alternative is the Honor Magic7Pro. It also includes 50 megapixels and a great variety of capture options. This device includes a particular feature named variable focal opening for the sensor. This name indicates that the diaphragm helps to adapt the device to light quantity. The Pro mode in Honor Magic7Pro is a great tool t improve your photos.
Battery and autonomy for the Samsung Galaxy S25 family
When talking about autonomy, these are very powerful devices and they require lots of energy. In the latest generation there have been not advances on the console videogames development. Thanks to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite you can improve energy consumption and use 7 to 8 hours of active screen. Samsung remains at 5.000 mAh as in 2024.
It’s also important to wait for the real tests in order to talk about autonomy. The software and the optimization for battery lifetime are two aspects to consider in the new Galaxy S25 family. Realme high-end device surprised everyone with three days autonomy.
Fight still goes on
Most of the phone manufacturers incorporate similar components on high-end devices. There are still a few surprises to keep fighting for the best place and biometrics are among these. Most of the phones use ultrasonic sensors, but Honor introduces a ToF 3D frontal sensor for a secure facial unlock.
On software and personal preferences, One UI is one of the best customization themes. HyperOS and ColorOS are good but they are more Asian-oriented.
Finally, the updates for each also play an important role when choosing a device. Samsung Galaxy S25 offers 7 years of system and security like Google. Honor and Oppo offer 5 years and Xiaomi and OnePlus reduce it even more to 4 years of updates.
Premium devices are expensive. The price for getting one of these mobile phones is not cheap. Whereas 1000 dollars and above is the normal standard, the Realme option with the GT7 Pro model for 800 euros is great news.
Most high-end devices are already out there, trying to engage the consumer. Samsung presented the new Galaxy S25 family and the capabilities of the phone are extremely interesting.
